Hey everyone
What’s the easiest way to become a qualified and licensed builder? What do you have to do to become a builder? How old do you have to be to become a builder? Do you have to go to school to become a builder? What are the most important qualifications to posses as a builder? Thanks

The best way to start out in the building trade is simply to get involved. If you walk onto most big building sites they will more than likely have some work for you. I started out at 16 when I left school. I was a brick carrier for a year and then started laying bricks for houses. After that I went into plastering and eventually conservatories. It really is a case of just learning each aspect as you go along. You can specialise in one area one day a week at college while you are working, so you are getting your certificate and earning money. The cold winters are not easy, but I have earned some decent money over the years for someone who left school without a grade.

The age limit is 18 to become a builder if I am not mistaken, anyway if you are younger you might have difficulties getting a work at the big construction sites. You do not really go to school to become a builder but to get better money and have better career prospect it will certainly help. Otherwise you have to star as a basic labourer with the low pay. |
