Question- I have seen a variety of price points for online copywriters offering their services. I have over 10 years of experience in the copywriting industry and am concerned that my current rates will not be competitive. How can I find out what the going rates are for copywriters both online and offline? Are the rates more competitively domestically or abroad?

It can be difficult to increase you rates as some of your current customers might leave but on the other hand if the customer has been with you for some time and is happy with your work then they might tolerate the slight price increase.
It is very difficult to say what is the right price to charge as because of the internet you can get some copywriting done all over the world and the price can vary significantly depending if the writer is in India or in UK. An average copywriter in UK might charge £100-£800 for a simple 3-4 page business website, and the latter being a large ecommerce site or £50-£200 for a sales letter. Catalogues may begin at £400 and business brochures at around £200. The copywriters rates above are very average and the best thing to do to find out what rates other copywriters charge is to ask them or just go to their websites. |
